With climate change, mankind is facing one of its greatest challenges. The Helmholtz Association has been making important scientific contributions in this field for many years. Now it is further expanding its research in this field of the future: With the establishment of the Helmholtz Climate Initiative, it is enabling a systemic and interdisciplinary approach for the first time. Thus, adaptation options to a changing climate and strategies for reducing emissions are increasingly being researched.

KIT is involved in the Helmholtz Climate Initiative project in Cluster I (Mitigation), Project 2 (Approaches to Circular Carbon Use).
