MIPAS contributes to the SPARC Data Initiative
Annual zonal mean CO cross sections as calculated from the data sets of the SPARC Data Initiative. The upper panels show the multi-instrument mean, and results from ODIN-SMR and the high-resolution measurement period of MIPAS. The lower panels show CO from ACE-FTS, AURA-MLS, and the reduced resolution measurement period from MIPAS. MIPAS results were produced with the IMK/IAA processor. The plots are from Hegglin et al. 2021, where the results of the SPARC Data Initiative are summarized.
The SPARC Data Initiative provides monthly zonal mean data of a bunch of trace species as measured with satellite-borne remote sensing instruments. IMK and IAA contribute with MIPAS data on O3, H2O, CH4, N2O, CFC-11, CFC-12, CO, SF6, NO, NO2, HNO3, HNO4, N2O5, ClONO2, ClO, HOCl, and CH2O. Data from the following instruments were considered: ACE-FTS, Aura-MLS, GOMOS, HALOE, HIRDLS, LIMS, MAESTRO, MIPAS, OSIRIS, POAM II, POAM III, SAGE I. SAGE II, SAGE III, SCIAMACHY, SMILES, ODIN/SMR, UARS-MLS, and OMPS.
