Global upper tropospheric relative humidity over ice observed by MIPAS

The above figure shows global upper tropospheric relative humidity observed by MIPAS from 6 November to 7 December 2005.

A global distribution of upper tropospheric relative humidity over ice (RHi) observed by MIPAS is shown. MIPAS RHi profiles are computed from MIPAS temperatures and H₂O profiles using the Goff and Gratch (1946) formula. In the tropics at approximately 100 hPa supersaturation is observed.
